If you’re into NYHC, then you’re going to want to check out newcomers On the Offense. The band has just posted two tracks, “We’re All Good” and “Four Hundred List,” for your streaming pleasure. The tracks come from their forthcoming debut album, Frontline, which will become available for download on April 9th.
The NYC natives draw influence from such legends as Sick Of It All, Cro-Mags, Token Entry, Bad Brains, Warzone, Sham 69, Kraut, Black Flag, Minor Threat, Suicidal Tendencies, and more, and claim to embody what New York Hardcore is all about: fast riffs, catchy beats, and intense lyrics.
If you like what you hear, be sure to check out On The Offense’s appearance on East Village Radio‘s “Black ‘N Blue Takeover” on April 9th, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET.
About the two songs, vocalist Sean Finley said,
“These are two songs that go over huge when we play them live, and the fans really dig ’em. So it’s cool to actually get them recorded for everyone to hear. I think they’re a good intro to what we’ve got on the album, and what we are all about… no flash, no technical wizardry, no crazy over produced bullshit or over complication… just straight up NYHC.”
That’s a pretty accurate description, which is why I think you should check the tracks out.
