Son of a Hundred Maniacs is a fan-made prequel to the masterful slasher franchise started by Wes Craven, A Nightmare on Elm Street. Much like what Bates Motel is doing, this independent film is taking a look at Freddy before he became what we all know and love. Given the fact that Freddy was a child abductor/rapist/murderer before being burned alive by grieving parents, this film could be particularly stomach turning. I bet some people won’t even be able to sit through the thing.
Judging by the trailer, it will be an intense ride through bloodville.
Son of A Hundred Maniacs was written and directed by Andrew Daniels and includes cast members John William Watkins, Melanie Sirois, and Rainni Moran. It’s also been recently announced that the Nancy Thompson cosplayer, Diandra Lazor, had signed onto the film as the official publicist.
