Brad Pitt is back in another epic trailer for World War Z, an upcoming apocalyptic horror film that features a global zombie pandemic with all the bells and whistles of a Hollywood production.
Considering Pitt is the star, you pretty much can’t get a zombie film more mainstream than that. But will a pretty face and over-budget special effects be enough to compete with the novel of the same name by Max Brooks?
Most likely not since Hollywood generally likes to fuck things up. Some fans are already hating on the film because they feel “it has no connection” with the novel whatsoever. Maybe they’re judging the film too fast, but with Hollywood’s known reputation, it’s hard to not consider their opinions. Aside from what the fans of the book think, I personally will still give the film a shot with an open mind of course. Look at it this way, If you enjoyed some of the Resident Evil films, then I can’t really see World War Z be any worse.
The film is directed by Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) and is slated for June 21, 2013 in 2D and RealD 3D.

A Chinese doctor encounters one of the earliest zombie cases at a time when the Chinese government is ruthlessly suppressing any information about the outbreak that will soon spread across the globe. The tale then follows the outbreak via testimony of smugglers, intelligence officials, military personnel and many others who struggle to defeat the zombie menace.
