Religious Group Aims To Picket Jeff Hanneman’s Funeral

First, no funeral arrangements have been announced yet for Jeff Hanneman. These things usually take a few days. However, this hasn’t stopped the Westboro Baptist Church from disrespecting the late Slayer guitarist.

I’m all for freedom of speech, but there’s a line when it comes to someone’s funeral. But the Westboro Baptist Church is no stranger to controversy as they’ve picketed or protested everything from homosexuality to Italy; apparently Italy is the land of “mobster-breeding perverts.” We here at Yell! Magazine love our veterans, even if we don’t always agree with our nation’s politics. The same can’t be said for these holy rollers who’ve also picketed the funerals of fallen soldiers.

And now, they may picket Jeff Hanneman’s funeral. Even if they don’t, there’s no excuse for the group’s tasteless approach; on Thursday, the day Hanneman passed away, Westboro tweeted the following:

I might understand if they were opposed to his music and lyrics, but this is just disgusting. Hey, if you go to the funeral, you have our permission to cunt punt these assholes and tell them that god hates them too.
