Uncharted undoubtedly has great potential for a film adaptation, and there’s been talk of it for years. At one point Mark Wahlberg was in the queue to play Nathan Drake, with David O. Russell directing, but fans didn’t like that idea.
The latest news to hit, is Naughty Dog’s desire to have Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg write the Uncharted script. Naughty Dog has been asking the duo for the better part of four years now, and, as IGN reports, Goldberg has voiced why they’ve been hesitant to accept:
“It’s just going to be Indiana Jones. If we could figure out a way to make it not Indiana Jones, it’d be awesome.”
Wanting the comedy writers is an interesting choice for an action/adventure flick, even if Drake is a wise-ass. And given the amount of comedy that made Indiana Jones work, Rogen and Goldberg’s concerns are legitimate… and as fans of the game, they should be concerned.
What do you think? Is Rogen and Goldberg a good choice by Naughty Dog? Post your comments below.
