We’ve been feeling the adrenalin of having seen Amon Amarth all week. The energy of their performance is visceral and palapable and worth every penny if you ever get a chance to see them. Their stage prescence oozes charisma and power, and the intimidating frontman Johan Hegg is nothing if he isn’t a big, charming man. After more than 20 years together, Amon Amarth has a vast catalog and many fan favorites to fill a set with, and the Montreal audience was highly receptive of Amon’s energy and show.
We had the distinct pleasure of talking to Ted Lundström about a variety of things beyond the usual new album stuff, such as the Marvel universe, the possibility of being on a Thor soundtrack, Game of Thrones, and Viking invasions. As far as Viking invasions go, we’re going on whichever side Ted chooses. We also tried to get details on the upcoming “Father of the Wolf” video, but Ted’s lips were sealed.
As mentioned, Amon Amarth has been around for 20 some years, and is currently on tour promoting their ninth studio album, Deceiver of the Gods, their best-selling album to date. Ted is the bassist and one of the three founding members in the band.
Enjoy the interview, metal brothers and sisters.
