Earlier today, 2K and Gearbox confirmed the October 8th (North America) and October 11th (international) release dates for the Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition on all platforms. The exciting part is Gearbox’ generosity, as $100 worth of content will be made available for a paltry $59.99 — paltry because this edition will include practically everything that’s been released for Borderlands 2: a copy of the main game and all four campaign add-ons (Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep), both added classes (Gaige the Mechromancer and Krieg the Psycho), the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1 (which raises the level cap to 61), the Heads and Skins previously included in the Collector’s Edition, and Premiere Club content (Creature Slaughter Dome, Gearbox Gun Pack, Golden Key, Vault Hunter’s Relic).

All this in addition to earlier news that Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition is coming to Vita in 2014 and the new level cap of 72 is coming next week.

Gearbox president Randy Pitchford stated:

For us and for fans, the love for Borderlands 2 has been nothing short of spectacular, so it’s natural for us here at Gearbox Software to want everyone else to have a chance to experience the best-selling game and its most valuable expansion content. The Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition offers more value than ever before in one package, giving everyone an opportunity to become a legendary Vault Hunter, and join in the award winning mayhem and fun.
