It’s the 35th anniversary of John Carpenter’s most successful indie picture at the time, Halloween, and “The Shape” is coming after you next week in an all new HD transfer. So get ready to make sure to check all your corners because pure evil is also returning to the big screen next month.
Anchor Bay Entertainment, which has been the home to Halloween for almost 20 years, is releasing a special edition of this epic slasher masterpiece on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, that will include a bunch of bonus features (listed below). The HD transfer was personally supervised by the film’s original cinematographer and Academy-Award nominee Dean Cundey in striking new 7.1 audio mix. The Blu-ray will also feature a brand-new full length audio commentary by Carpenter and star Jamie Lee Curtis.
President of Trancas International Films Malek Akkad stated:
I’m so happy that we’re partnering with them [Anchor Bay] to present the definitive edition of what is widely acknowledged as one of the seminal horror films of the 20th century.
