The Evil Within is an upcoming survival horror game from the master Shinji Mikami. The game isn’t scheduled for release until 2014, across current-gen and next-gen consoles, but we do have this extended gameplay trailer to feast our eyes on. We dare you not to run away with your tail between your legs as you watch this nightmare unfold.
The majority of the first half of this trailer is reminiscent of the Saw movie franchise combined with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which is totally awesome. The second half of the trailer takes a more traditional approach, showing the Resident Evil-esque gameplay mechanics, some of the weapons and tools at your disposal, and a shit ton of the monsters you’ll be up against.
Simply put, this game looks like a survival-horror fan’s wet dream come true. We’re very excited about this one.
