Spencer Chamberlain, former Underoath frontman, has formed a new band, Sleepwave, with long-time friend Stephen Bowman. Today is the day that you can download their premiere track for free. If you’re interested in hearing Chamberlain’s new direction on “Rock and Roll Is Dead and So Am I,” then head on over to sleepwave.merchline.com to download the track for free.
As far as what to expect, Chamberlain told altpress.com:
I won’t do Underoath part 2, or continue the saga with another heavy metal band; a band with screaming, in particular, is what I’m not going to do. That song [‘Rock and Roll Is Dead and So Am I’] is probably one of the heaviest that I have. There’s a lot more rock stuff, you know, there’s some piano-driven stuff. The people who are paying attention right now are my Underoath fans, so I’m going to give them something heavy to listen to.
If you’d like to hear some of that “piano-driven stuff,” check out the beautifully shot videos for “static_feed_01” (above) and “static_feed_02” just below:
Sleepwave has also announced four intimate shows this November. Tickets are on sale now.
Sleepwave show dates:
November 16th- State Theatre, St Petersburg, FL.
November 17th- Masquerade, Purgatory, Atlanta, GA
November 20th- Santos Party House, New York, NY
November 21st- North Star Bar, Philadelphia, PA
Says Chamberlain:
We decided to play these shows in smaller, more intimate rooms. Before this record comes out and I’m back behind a barricade or on some festival, I really want to get in a room with some excited people, get face to face and meet every single one of them. Something special, something different, something to be remembered.
