Just because it’s Halloween doesn’t mean we’re quite done with bringing you some cool and spooky stuff. Here to prove, once again, that heavy metal and horror is a match made in purgatory is Marilyn Manson with a bunch of kids… err, what? Yes, yes indeed, this is Marilyn Manson roasting hot dogs around a campfire with a bunch of prepubescent kids telling scary stories.
Typically, Manson is a master of shock rock, but here in Funny or Die’s Halloween Anthology with Marilyn Manson we get to see his comedic chops, which aren’t great, but still entertaining. In addition to Manson, the anthology also features the talents of Chase Offerle, Elizabeth Bittner, Gabrielle Current, Jacob Abels, and Mathew Chellaraj. I’m not sure how I feel about talking to kids about “glory holes,” but it’s their parents’ challenge in the end, not mine.
Of all the shorts presented in this quick, little anthology, the best comes first in “The Dilemma of the Dead.” It’s a well documented fact that the majority of us love the idea of Nazi zombies. Seriously, delivering retribution at the end of bat for near genocide is a dream come true, but what if the tables were turned (or shifted out of place a bit)? Yeah, what would happen if only Jews became zombies? Watch and see where this goes — it’s brilliant.
Other stories shared by Manson include “A Haunted Home,” “What if You had to Learn how to Use Makeup?,” “Haunted Trumpet,” and “Gory Hole.”
Pretty brilliant stuff. Enjoy!
