Georges St-Pierre won by split decision against Johny Hendricks at UFC 167, the organization’s 20th anniversary event. (The rest of the night’s results are listed below.) The decision in GSP’s favor is a controversial one as many believe that Hendricks clearly won the bout and fans in attendance booed the decision.

What do you think: did the decision go the right way? Let us know in the comments section below.

After the fight, Hendricks commented:

I thought I clearly won that fight. Did you guys see the same fight that I just fought?

Also, after the fight, GSP stated that he would be stepping away from the sport for a time due to “personal things”:

I have to go away for a little bit. …I need a vacation.

Being a top-draw, Dana White had a few things to say about GSP’s speculated retirement according to MMAMania.com:

Did he say he wants to retire? He didn’t say ‘I’m gonna retire, I’m hanging it up. It’s been great everybody. Thanks a lot for all the years. See you later.’ He said “I’m gonna take some time off.’ First off, that decision that happens, you don’t just say, ‘Oh I’m going to take [some] time off. Maybe I’ll be back, maybe I won’t.’ …You owe it to the fans, you owe it to the belt, you owe it to this company, and you owe it to Johny Hendricks [to] give him that opportunity for him to fight again.

White went on to add:

I know Georges as a man, I know the type of person that he is and the right thing needs to be done here. The guy is going to go home, rest and fight Johny Hendricks again.

However you want to look at it, GSP walked away looking the worst for wear, but retaining his title and breaking the all-time record for wins inside the octagon.
