A while back, we reported that there’s going to be a remake of George A. Romero’s 1985 horror classic, Day of the Day. The Romero flick is a zombie masterpiece that featured some of Tom Savini‘s best makeup and special effects with assisting artist Gregory Nicotero (The Walking Dead). The film was the third in the Dead franchise, preceded by Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead.
The rights to do a remake of Day Of The Dead was acquired earlier this year by Lati Grobman and Christa Campbell with intentions to start filming next summer. Word on the street is that Mark Tonderai (Hush, House at the End of the Street) has been hired by Millennium Films to helm the project. Apparently, the story will be a modern-day retelling of Romero’s version.
We’ll continue to drop more news for you on the remake once it becomes available, but in the meantime you can get a heads up on the synopsis of the remake right below.
Stay tuned to Yell! Magazine for more to come.
