UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey (7–0) hasn’t been very popular since the debut of her coaching gig on The Ultimate Fighter Season 18 in September. Her rival, Miesha Tate (13–4), a former STRIKEFORCE champion, has received more support than Rousey has from fans, and even outvoted Rousey for the cover of the new UFC video game by EA Sports.
The reason is her personality on the reality show is just too raw for the mainstream and she’s a bit rough around the edges compared to the classy Tate. On the show, Rousey just hasn’t represented herself well as a champion that female fighters can look up too, such as TUF 18 finalist Julianna Pena on Team Tate. Pena recently had a few harsh things to say about opposing head coach Rousey on Fox Sports Live, called her “pretentious” and “a spoiled, rich brat.”
