Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman, Corey Taylor, is headed to the big screen… or at least to VOD. Not exactly his acting debut, but certainly his biggest acting project, Taylor will join Robert Englund (aka, Freddy Krueger) in Fear Clinic.
Fear Clinic is the film adaptation of the web series of the same name. In addition to Englund, the web series also starred Kane Hodder and Danielle Harris, however, the film’s cast doesn’t include the latter two. Fiona Dourif will be playing Sara, which was Harris’ character. Robert Hall is directing and writing, Aaron Drane is writing, and Mark Benton Johnson is producing.
Fear Clinic is currently in pre-production with an expectant 2014 release date. There’s no word on the film’s synopsis yet or how closely it will follow the plot of the web series.
Fear Clinic web series synopsis:
Five young adults travel to a special clinic run by the infamous Dr. Andover to treat their phobias. One by one their worst fears begin to manifest themselves and intrude into each patient’s reality. Is Dr. Andover’s cure worse than the disease?
As a side note, it’s interesting to see all these frontmen (all two of them in this week’s news) heading to the movies, but this one looks to be more interesting than Sully Erna’s starring role in Army of the Damned.
