Calling it everything from a tentative title to an early working title to a confirmed title, various outlets on the Internet reported on what Terminator 5‘s title can be expected to be. That title is Terminator: Genesis. Kind of generic, transparent, and boring, don’t you think? If it’s just a working title, that’s fine, but I hope they don’t release the movie under this seemingly Star Trek-inspired moniker. Personally, I think the genesis story within the Terminator franchise has already been told well enough. It just seems lazy to rehash the old story lines when there are so many other approaches that could be taken.
As for casting and crew news, Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) has been “confirmed” to direct Terminator: Genesis. According to comicbook.com Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) or Brie Larson (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) to play Sarah Connor. It’s also been reported that the franchises superstar, Arnold Schwarzenegger, will return, but how extensive his role will be has yet to be determined.
Terminator: Genesis is expected to hit theaters in July 2015.
