The nominees for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are in, and, once again, KISS is on the list. Will this finally be the deserved year? We’ll have to wait to see. However, if the legends are finally inducted, it won’t be without some controversy: According to Something Else! Reviews “Gene Simmons has made it clear he’s not participating in a reunion with his fellow original members.” To that end, Ace Frehley told Eddie Trunk that, “There’s no way Gene can put a lid on it.”
There’s no way that Simmons could put a lid on it. There might not be a “reunion” performance, but there’s no way he can keep Ace and Peter Criss away. Imagine the fan outrage. KISS has always purported that the brand is a big family, that once you’re in you’re always going to be a part of the family, and if there are any family members that deserve to be there, it’s ALL of the four founding members.
Other nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame include Nirvana, the Replacements, N.W.A., Chic, Peter Gabriel, LL Cool J, the Zombies, Cat Stevens, Hall and Oates, Deep Purple, Link Wray, the Meters, Linda Ronstadt, and Yes.
Yeah, some subjective nominees there. Jesus Christ, since when is rap rock and roll?
Anyway, I’m sure most of you share my opinion about Ace and Peter deserving to be at the ceremony, but I’d still like to hear your opinions, which you can leave in the comments section below.
