Doom metal pioneers, Pentagram, has just announced a string of live dates, with Radio Moscow and Kings Destroy supporting, set to take place on the West Coast this February and March. Pentagram has also announced that longtime guitarist, Victor Griffin, will once again saddle up with the band for the tour and, wait for it… the next studio album! That’s right, the plan right now is for Pentagram to work on a new studio album when they’re not touring and to push it out the door before 2014 concludes.
With Griffin returned from his In-Graved venture, the Pentagram lineup going forward is: Bobby Liebling on vocals, Griffin on guitar, Greg Turley on bass, and Sean Saley on drums.
Griffin had a few words to say about his return:
Time continues to teach me to expect the unexpected and never say never…at least to some things. After years of investment in Pentagram and in my relationships with Bobby Liebling, nephew Greg Turley of course, and more recently to drummer Sean Saley…the door has opened to hit the road again with my favorite dysfunctional band. We’ll be starting out in the Pacific Northwest in late February, with a new album in the works plus a full tour calendar for the rest of the year and beyond. Until then…until the end!
Liebling also commented:
Victor Griffin and I are brothers and it’s a joy to be working side by side again. As we’ve stated before, the door will always be open for him and he’ll always be an important part of Pentagram’s Ram Family. It’s great to have my partner in crime saddled up next to me on stage and the studio. He’s truly one-of-a-kind and we’re ecstatic to create another classic Pentagram album!
