OK, now this series is going to kick ass and I know this for a fact. Finally a good series worth watching on television/Netflix… at least that’s my opinion. I finally got to see the first episode last night, and I apologize for the delay, it happens when the show is limited to only one network that most people don’t have unless they have a cable package. But I will try to keep up on this show for you, the readers, as best I can.
Let’s review what happened in the pilot episode, and compare it to the original From Dusk Till Dawn film. After watching the first episode of what’s supposed to be a 10-episode series, my guess is that they’re basically piecing together the film, one episode at a time. The pilot episode being all about Benny’s World of Liquor, if you remember that from the film.
Similarly, one of the great aspects of the series for me is how they seem to intend to keep the plot idea from the original film. Obviously they’re going to throw in some scenes to fill in the extra time and to also give it more background and story. Actually, giving us more background story is an amazing difference from the film, which just basically cuts to the chase with death and mayhem. No complaints about that here, but the extra stuff with the flashbacks of Texas Ranger McGraw (Don Johnson) are perfect. The scenes with the girls being held hostage in the liquor store, perfect. These were events that weren’t explained in the film.
So, since you saw the Gecko Brothers ride off into the sunset, headed for El Rey, Mexico, what do you think will be the scenario for the next episode? Please let us know in the section below. Oh and before you do that, what do you think is “wrong” with Richie? I mean, he was seeing demons and shit…
