Last week, we reported that Blumhouse Productions will produce a “revenge western” with director Ti West and big Hollywood names attached to the movie titled Valley of Violence. This week, it sounds like the horror banner continues to move forward on another project involving the Amityville franchise and a director has been tapped.
Previously, there was an Amityville movie in the works in the “found footage” format named Amityville: The Lost Tapes with a director in place, but that idea has been long dropped. Now, it officially sounds like Maniac director Franck Khalfoun is on board to direct a story revolving around “a single mother who moves her three kids into the ‘Amityville’ house.” The script was written by Daniel Farrands and Casey La Scala, and it appears that Jennifer Jason Leigh and Bella Thorne will star in the movie, which is now just titled Amityville.
Filming should start very soon with the aim to release it on January 2, 2015. Stay tuned to Yell! Magazine for more updates to come.
