The brawl between Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva has been highly talked about before and since it aired exclusively on UFC Fight Pass. The video previews made it pretty clear to me that some intense shit is about to go down on the UFC reality show between the two rivaling coaches. It definitely did go down bad, but the previews also raised some suspicion that the brawl could be completely stagged like a pro wrestling match on WWE.
So, was it?
Now that the episode is aired, the full brawl between Sonnen and Silva on TUF: Brazil 3 is available online, and you can tell in Sonnen’s voice that it wasn’t stagged. Plus, Silva’s assistant muay thai coach Andre Dida threw in a few cowardly punches to the side and back of Sonnen’s head for good measure. You’ll see for yourself in the video clip that the brawl wasn’t stagged.
As far as the real UFC bout, Sonnen and Silva are set to square off at UFC 175 on July 5, 2014 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the meantime, check out the clip above and enjoy the pre-fight!
