Powerman 5000 just dropped the second track from their forthcoming album, Builders of the Future (due out May 27th), and it’s an intense, industrial-rock-infused that’ll have you feeling like you just downed five Red Bulls. You’ll have to head over to Loudwire since they got the exclusive on “Invade, Destroy, Repeat.”
At the beginning of the track I’m getting a pretty big Ministry vibe; what do you think? And what do you think of the track overall? Is Rob Zombie‘s little brother, Spider One, making’ some noise?
As Spider One told Loudwire about “Invade, Destroy, Repeat”:
On every album we like to make the opening track a statement. A call to arms! A song that sets the pace for what is to follow. On Builders of the Future’ the song ‘Invade, Destroy, Repeat’ relentlessly smashes the album open. The lyrics ‘This is a message and a warning / There’s no escaping here or avoiding’ let everyone know that Powerman is back and ready to kill. It’s a powerful way to come back after all these years with what I think is by far our best album yet.
“Invade, Destroy, Repeat” follows the first Builders of the Future single, the poppy “How to Be Human.”
There’s definitely room in the hard rock/heavy metal world for this kind of fun, party-oriented music. It can weigh heavy if you only listen to doom and gloom.
Pre-order Builders of the Future: MP3 – $9.49 or CD – $14.87
