Yesterday, Warner Bros. dopped four new clips on us from the upcoming Tom Cruise vehicle, Edge of Tomorrow. The Doug Liman-directed blockbuster hits theaters on June 6th.
Check out the clips from the movie here, and tell me this doesn’t look intriguing, exciting, and, well, fairly simple (it is rated PG-13, after all). The premise of the film puts Cruise’s Lt. Col. Bill Cage in a posthumous time warp in which he’s destined to relive the same fatal day over and over again. Obviously, he has to figure out a way to break the cycle. Also, there’s might be an obvious idea that this might be Cage’s hell.
However, I can’t get over the idea that this is an alien-injected, sci-fi mech-warrior version of this movie:
You know, I’d love to see Bill Murray make a cameo in Edge of Tomorrow. Oh well, here are the rest of the clips from the movie, which I’m sure is just pure action entertainment, and I’m gonna love it.
Edge of Tomorrow Synopsis:
Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and then dropped into combat. Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an alpha alien down with him. But he awakens back at the beginning of the same day and is forced to fight and die again…and again – as physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop.
