Since we started Yell! Magazine there hasn’t been a single year we didn’t mention news about Paranormal Activity, a horror franchise that surprisingly continues to expand yearly into sequels and even spin-offs now. Although, we are tired of Paramount of pumping out this old and unoriginal franchise, we still talk about it because we have some faith the sixth installment will be appealing to us.
Evil Argento was a fan of the latest and only spin-off, Paramount Activity: The Marked Ones, so I guess Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension has potential to be good since Jason Blum and Oren Peli are producing the project again. Newcomer Gregory Plotkin will be handling the directorial duties from a script written by sci-fi/thriller duo Jason Pagan and Andrew Deutschman. There’s no official detail about the story yet and where it will pick up in the franchise, but my feeling is this one will be a direct sequel to Paranormal Activity 4 that will follow mysterious, supernatural occurrences that takes place in a newly-moved family home.
As far as the release date goes, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension has been pushed back a few months because Scouts vs. Zombies is taking the October spot now. It will now come out on March 13, 2015 and will feature Katie Featherston, the only actress to appear in all five installments of the movie.
