The Evil Within — a pure survival horror game from Tango Gameworks and the original creator of the genre, Shinji Mikami — has gone gold today. This officially means the developer has produced a final master copy of the game and sent it off for replication, packaging, and shipment.
This also means you don’t need to worry about delays between now and the release date. As soon as The Evil Within drops in your hands on October 14, 2014, you will finally be able to immerse yourself in the unnerving atmosphere Mikami created. You’ll play as Sebastian Castellanos, a detective who wakes up after a violent ambush in a deranged world in which creatures wander among the dead.
In addition to the gold announcement, Bethesda revealed the “recommended” PC requirements for The Evil Within, including the install space the game will require for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
