Torch Runner dropped their latest offering, Endless Nothing, today via Southern Lord. It’s brutal violence on a plate, and you can stream the album in its 22-minute entirety over at American Aftermath.
When asked about his favorite song on the album, bassist/vocalist Rob Turner named “Bound by Misery,” going on to say:
I think the theme of the song (and a lot of the album) is best summed up with the line, ‘Whether I get swallowed by this fucking darkness, or I become blinded in the pursuit of light- I remain alone. Filled with desire, bound by misery.’ I feel like I was able to write the exact words that I was trying to in this song, and that fucking riff at the end is so sick! I get so stoked when we play it.
It’s my belief that every riff on Endless Nothing is sick. There’s a great balance of low-end heavy with frantic hardcore pacing here that it’s impossible not to get mesmerized by the brutality that’s going on. This is a very addictive sounding album. If you enjoy the stream, you ought to do yourself a favor and order it on CD/Vinyl or MP3.
Torch Runner is two weeks away from their West Coast U.S. tour in support of Endless Nothing. They’ll be joining labelmates Baptists and Obliterations. See the list of dates just below.
