New Music: Santa Cruz Debuts “Wasted ‘N’ Wounded” Video

santa cruz - wasted n wounded

I’m confused like someone with a sexual identity conflict, and I like it. The new track, accompanied by the brand-spankin’ new video (see it at vevo.com), is “Wounded ‘n’ Wasted” from Santa Cruz, and it’s a confusing blend of the good parts of metalcore and a whole bunch of hair metal from the ‘80s, with a tinge of pop thrown into the mix. The core of the song is what I’m calling the metalcore stuff, the vocals and guitar solo are pure ‘80s. It’s a surprisingly awesome mix of genres, and totally makes for excellent party music.

“Wounded ‘n’ Wasted” comes off of Santa Cruz’ new 7” of the same name. Right now you can get the single at iTunes, or you can pre-order the red vinyl 7” here. The B side contains We Are the Ones to Fall.”

After the Ville Juurikkala-directed video was shot, Santa Cruz hit the studio to record their second full-length album to follow up 2013’s Screaming for Adrenaline. The Finnish band will head on over the U.S. to play a show at Webster Hall, NYC, come December 12th.
