UFC 190 is getting really interesting right now because of two reasons. First, it was announced on Friday that Ronda Rousey is booked to defend her bantamweight title against No.1 contender Bethe Cerreia in the main event of UFC 190 on August 1, 2015, at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Second, we have word that Maurício Rua and Antônio Rogério Nogueira will have a rematch inside the Octagon in the co-main event of the UFC 190 fight card. That’s right! It’s a rematch fans have been waiting on for 10 years after their classic PRIDE encounter in Japan. As many may remember, “Shogun” defeated Nogueira by unanimous decision in one of the most epic battles in the history of combat sport.
Both Brazilian fighters are currently coming off a loss in UFC. “Shogun” lost his most recent match against Ovince St. Preux via TKO at just 34 seconds into the first round, the fastest knockout loss of his career. Nogueira also lost by knockout in the very first round against Anthony Johnson in July 2014.
The rematch is set in stone as a light heavyweight contest.
