It’s officially in the books folks! Donald Cerrone has been granted a rematch with UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos at UFC on FOX 17 on December 19 in Orlando, Florida. The fight is currently booked as the headliner, which will be the Brazilians first title defense since dominating Anthony Pettis in March.
At the moment, dos Anjos is a pure wrecking ball who had an excellent performance at UFC 185 against Pettis, winning by unanimous decision and has won four fights in a row prior to that fight. Dos Anjos already beat Cerrone at UFC Fight Night 27 in August 2013 by decision as well. He also holds wins over former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson and Nate Diaz.
As for “Cowboy”, he is currently riding a eight-fight win streak with a devastating TKO win over John Makdessi in May, and wins over Myles Jury and Eddie Alvarez over the year. Cerrone currently holds the record for most post-fight bonuses (Fight/Performance of the Night, Knockout/Submissions of the Night) in UFC/WEC history with 15.
