Filming has wrapped up for the all-girls Ghostbusters reboot, which went into production this summer in Massachusetts and New York. Directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat), Ghostbusters features a paranormal investigative team comprised of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon who are equipped with new proton packs, a new Ecto-1, and a new Ghostbusters headquarters that isn’t housed in a fire station.
Besides all the known facts on the leading stars in the reboot, information on cameo appearances of the original cast has been making rounds online over the past few weeks, which has been driving the director nuts. There’s been lots of leaks such as Ernie Hudson reuniting with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd on the list of stars from the original Ghostbusters to appear in the movie. In addition, Annie Potts (Janine Melnitz) is also rumored to have a cameo alongside rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, who will play a role as himself.
The latest leak to circulate for Ghostbusters is an appearance by Sigourney Weaver, who might reprise her role as Dana Barrett from the first two films.
Feig confirmed the news over Twitter on Friday.
Gang, trying to keep surprises but this is about to leak, so I’ll tell you myself: the awesome Sigourney Weaver is going to be in our movie!
