Holy fuck! Is it true?
Could Tremors be making a comeback, and could Kevin Bacon possibly be starring?
Hell yes! All of it.
After his success on the small screen with The Following, Kevin Bacon is set to star in the television reboot of Tremors, a film franchise which he had a big part in making a success. This time around, Bacon won’t just be starring, he’ll also be executive producing the Universal Cable Productions (UCP) and Blumhouse Productions project.
Andrew Miller (Backstrom, The Secret Circle, and the 1999 Dennis Rodman film, Simon Sez) will adapt the film to television. But whether the show lands on Syfy or another UCP property remains to be determined.
A new Tremors project involving Bacon hasn’t exactly been a big secret though; earlier this year the actor stated:
I’d love to do something else with Tremors and revisit the character 25 years later. Part of what’s great about that movie is there are next to no digital effects. The monsters are done with puppetry, and it’s still off, funny and scary — it’s a cool accomplishment.
We’ll keep you posted as this story bleeds.
