Who knows if satanic stories will be as great as they were in the late ’60s and early ’70s on film, but at least there’s a few good people trying hard to bring that horror experience back to life once again. There’s been many attempts over the last two decades, however, none of them have had a lasting appeal like The Exorcist and Rosemary’s Baby.
With TV networks continuing to be a major hot spot for reviving horror franchises, which is a great thing, A&E has plans to sink their teeth’s into another horror classic, The Omen. Could this one save the genre? Maybe not, but it’s always worth a look, if you’re a fan of horror. Damien is a sequel series, which chronicles the adult life of Damien Thorn, the mysterious child from the 1976 motion picture who has grown up seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him.
Haunted by his past, Damien must now come to terms with his true destiny — that he is the Antichrist.
The series stars Bradley James as Damien Thorn (Homeland), along with Oscar nominee Barbara Hershey (Once Upon A Time), Omid Abtahi (Better Call Saul) and Meganlyn Echikunwoke (House of Lies). Damien is expected to debut in 2016.
