Those looking forward to the highly-anticipated rematch between MMA veterans Dan Henderson and Lyoto Machida will be disappointed to hear the match is off of UFC on FOX 19 this Saturday.
According to MMA Fighting, Machida recently admitted to using a banned substance during an out-of-competition drug test, which was administered by USADA last week. At the moment, the banned substance has not been revealed and Machida claims he was unaware of it. The substance in question is prohibited both in and out of competition by USADA.
The UFC released the following statement,
The UFC organization was made aware today by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, that Lyoto Machida declared the usage of a banned substance during an out-of-competition sample collection last week, Machida stated that he was unaware that the substance was prohibited both in and out of competition and, in accordance with the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, his disclosure of usage will be taken into consideration by USADA during any potential results management and adjudication process.
Henderson, 45, is on the last fight of his UFC contract, he has been removed from the fight card and he will be scheduled for another bout in the very near future. Henderson revealed his thoughts on Twitter earlier today.
