In 2013, director Joe Begos brought us a John Carpenter inspired horror film called Almost Human. This year Begos is bringing us another blood-splattering midnight flick totally in the same vein as David Cronenberg, and of course, a bit of influence from early films of Brian De Palma.
If you loved De Palma’s Dressed to Kill and Cronenberg’s Scanners, then you will quickly become a fan of The Mind’s Eye. I’m pretty sure of that! Almost Human was a blast, so I have no doubt this will be any different.
Zack Connors and Rachel Meadows were born with incredible psychokinetic capabilities. When word of their supernatural talents gets out, they find themselves the prisoners of Michael Slovak, a deranged doctor intent on harvesting their powers. After a daring escape, they are free from his sinister institution, but the corrupt doctor will stop at nothing to track them down so that he may continue to siphon their gifts for his own use.
The Mind’s Eye stars Graham Skipper, Lauren Ashley Carter, John Speredakos, Noah Segan, Jeremy Gardner, Matt Mercer, Brian Morvant, Josh Ethier, Sam Zimmerman, and Larry Fessenden.
The horror film is slated to hit theaters, VOD, and iTunes on August 5th. In the meantime, check out the mind-blowing trailer embedded on this page.
