Fistula’s new video for the track “Morgue Attendant” might be the most disturbing thing you’ve seen in a long while… or at least today… and if you’re not into necrophilia (and we kinda hope you’re not). Released a couple of weeks ago, it nearly slipped by our radar, and we’re glad it didn’t, well, we’re glad because the track itself is pretty awesome. Just check out that killer bassline!
“Morgue Attendant” comes by way of the Ohio-based sludge slingers’ upcoming album, Longing for Infection, which is scheduled for release on July 15th, and can be pre-ordered here.
About the track and the new band lineup, frontman Dan Harrington commented:
I feel that the music of Fistula is at its best when we’re at our worst. After the whole Northern Aggression/Vermin Prolificus lineup imploded, Corey [Bing] and I were in a tough spot. Corey enlisted long-time friend Buddy Peel and Jeff Sullivan to join on bass and drums respectively, ‘Morgue Attendant’ was the first song they arranged together. Inspired by a ton of shitty Akron weed and watching Maximum Overdrive, the song came together quick. Around this time, this total deviant in Cincinnati had admitted to raping hundreds of corpses over his 16-year career in the morgue. Crack binges? Malt liquor? Necrophilia? This guy had to be the subject of a Fistula song.
