The first live action Ghost in the Shell film has been teased in several new video clips this week, and it’s pure awesomeness.
As many of you probably already know the science fiction crime drama is entirely based on the Japanese manga of the same name by Masamune Shirow. The film stars Scarlett Johansson, Pilou Asbæk, Michael Pitt, Takeshi Kitano, Chin Han, Lasarus Ratuere and Juliette Binoche.
Cyborg policewoman The Major (Scarlett Johansson), and her task force Section 9 thwart cyber criminals and hackers. Now, they must face a new enemy who will stop at nothing to sabotage Hanka Robotic’s Artificial Intelligence technology.
Some of the clips feature Johansson as Cyborg policewoman Major, a “full-body prosthesis” augmented-cybernetic human employed as the field commander of Public Security Section 9. An appearance by Takeshi Kitano can also been seen as Daisuke Aramaki, the chief of Public Security Section 9.
Ghost in the Shell is slated for March 31st, 2017 from Paramount Pictures.
