Ronda Rousey To Return For A Title Shot At UFC 207

Ronda Rousey

The word is officially out on Ronda Rousey. It’s been almost an entire year since Rousey lost the bantamweight belt to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November 2015. She is finally ready to make her first comeback in the UFC.

UFC President Dana White announced the news via “The Herd” with Colin Cowherd on Wednesday. According to White, Rousey will challenge current champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in Las Vegas. It sounds like the 135-pound fight is set as the headliner of the year-end event. Nunes recently took the belt from Miesha Tate at UFC 200. Nunes stunned Tate early on via punches and then won the fight by submission (rear-naked choke) in the first round.

A heavyweight rematch between former UFC Heavyweight Champions, Fabrício Werdum and Cain Velasquez is also expected to take place on the card and serve as the co-main event. The pairing met previously in June 2015 at UFC 188, with Werdum unifying the title, as he won the fight via submission in the third round.

UFC 207: Nunes vs. Rousey will take place on December 30, 2016 at T-Mobile Arena in Vegas.
