Ahead of the release of Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner comes first another sci-fi flick entitled Arrival from Paramount Pictures.
When the film was first teased in a trailer, Arrival was mysterious as hell. They revealed very little about the film, but after viewing the final teaser, I’m left far less intrigued for this film now. Maybe the unveiling of the alien life form was too much for me, but I guess the only thing left to wondering about is why?
When mysterious spacecrafts touch down across the globe, an elite team – lead by expert linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) – is brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers – and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity.
Perhaps it’s the whole premises of Arrival, so I think this will be enough to drive audiences to the box office to watch the film on the big screen. I, on the other hand, might just wait for the Blu-ray or digital release.
Arrival stars Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Forest Whitaker. It’s scheduled to hit theaters on November 11th.
