For those looking forward in seeing “Bigfoot” Silva compete in the UFC in the near future will be disappointed with today’s announcement.
Labeled as one of the greatest MMA heavyweights in world will be stepping away from the Octagon indefinitely. That’s right! According to MMA sources, the UFC has officially released Antonio Silva following three consecutive losses to Roy Nelson, Stefan Struve, and Mark Hunt, respectively.
Silva, 37, is currently in the process of looking into new offers from different promotions. With wins over Fedor Emelianenko under the STRIKEFORCE banner, Alistair Overeem, Travis Browne, and Andrei Arlovski, it shouldn’t be too hard for Silva to find a new home.
The Brazilian mixed martial artist currently trains at Team Nogueira and American Top Team.
