Following the release of several high ranking UFC officials, and the cut of “Bigfoot” Silva, the UFC has released 12 more fighters from their contract this week.
According to multiple MMA sources, the new owners of the UFC are currently undergoing a process to cut back on heavy costs. WME-IMG purchased the UFC from Zuffa, LLC for a whopping $4 billion in July 2016. They are currently looking for ways to make the company much more profitable than before. Former co-owners Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta stepped away from the company entirely, but UFC President Dana White still managed to stick around.
