It appears like strange things are happening over on Facebook and Twitter these days. Especially on the fan page of Netflix’s original series Stranger Things.
On Friday, a behind-the-scenes photo was shared upside down with a caption that read “back in production, see you next year, #strangerthings”, which was shared over 17 thousand times. This obviously means that production has officially begun for the second season. The photo features all the recurring actors, including Millie Bobby Brown reading a script, perhaps the one for the very first episode.
According to a few reports, Season Two will have a tone influenced by James Cameron’s approach to sequels such as Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Aliens. The Duffer Brothers previously told EW that most of the characters from the first season are back, but will cross town lines and explore more of the Upside Down. The second season is expected to have nine total episodes this time rather than eight.
Stranger Things returns on Netflix in 2017.
