UFC 205: Rashad Evans Pulled From Fight Card Due To Medical Issues

Rashad Evans

UPDATE: Evans vs. Kennedy now targeted for UFC 206.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans isn’t a happy camper anymore as he has been officially pulled from UFC 205.

Following a medical test conducted by the New York State Athletic Commission, an undisclosed issue came up in Evans’ testing, forcing him to pull out of his middleweight debut against Tim Kennedy. Speaking to MMA Fighting, Evans didn’t reveal the exact medical issue, but made it clear he is “disappointed.”

Evans said

I’m disappointed, I’m healthy. I don’t want anyone worrying about me. I’m fine, physically speaking. Never felt better. It’s just the commission and their rules. I guess they have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to this.

The 37 year-old UFC veteran was initially slated to fight on November 12th after losing two straight fights to Glover Teixeira and Ryan Bader, respectively. Evans plans on returning in the very near future.
