This past Friday, Chicago death doom sextet, Cokegoat released their anticipated Drugs and Animals full-length. Engineered, produced, and mixed by Andy Nelson (Weekend Nachos, Like Rats) at Bricktop Recording and mastered by Carl Saff (Unsane, Red Fang, Earthless et al) at Saff Mastering, the post/doom/death/heavy metal collective layers Jeff Wojtysiak, Ed Nudd, and Rebekah Brown on guitars, synths and vocals, while Chase Bentley, Tim Baldwin, and Jordan Schultz add mass with guitar, bass and drums respectively.
Drugs and Animals is available digitally and on 180-gram 12″ vinyl.
Prior to the album’s release, the band revealed the single “The Burner,” and as the band commented:
Our drummer Jordan kept asking to write a burner, so we did. It was written while Jordan wasn’t there. He got what he asked for. It seems like he likes the exercise.
You can listen to “The Burner” as well as order the album via the Cokegoat’s Bandcamp page.
