A few months ago we shared the very first image of Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise in the upcoming two-part movie adaptation of IT based on the 1986 novel of the same name by Stephen King. Today, Entertainment Weekly got their hands on a brand new image featuring Pennywise again, but peeking out of a sewer pipe.
It’s frightening as hell!
According to director Andrés Muschietti (Mama), Pennywise will have a strong presence in the reboot from a screenplay he wrote with Gary Doberman.
Pennywise shows up, he’s front and center, and he does his show. He has an act. So it’s weird all the time, and every little thing implies a further threat.
IT will be divided into two movies with the first one focusing on the Losers’ Club as kids facing Pennywise and other forms of evil in the small town of Derry in the 1980s. The second movie is expected to focus on the Losers’ Club as adults trying to defeat the evil entity.
Besides Skarsgård as Pennywise, IT also stars Finn Wolfhard, Jaeden Lieberher, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Owen Teague, Sophia Lillis, and Nicholas Hamilton.
The movie is slated for September 8th, 2017 from Warner Bros.
