Besides looking forward to Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant in May, fans can now also get extra excited over the newly announced virtual reality experience based on the universe of the upcoming Alien film.
Variety recently reported that Scott will executive produce an Alien: Covenant VR experience that will be helmed by David Karlak in collaboration with The Fox Innovation Lab, who previously helped put together The Martian VR Experience based on 2015 film starring Matt Damon.
According to The Fox Innovation Lab,
Viewers will discover the true meaning of terror as they navigate through horrifying alien environments and a story where every decision could mean the difference between life and death.
The Alien: Covenant VR experience will be available as a paid title on major VR platforms such as the HTC Vive, PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift. There’s no word on an exact release date yet, but it may be unleashed around the same time as the film.
20th Century Fox will release Alien: Covenant in theaters on May 19th, 2017.
