Things are looking pretty good in the casting world of Shane Black’s upcoming Predator film. It’s the fourth installment in the Predator franchise currently labeled as a sequel, which was first announced on June 24, 2014, with Black confirmed as director.
Over the past few months, Boyd Holbrook and Olivia Munn have been casted in the film. Another actor has recently joined forces with them to help take on the galaxy’s greatest hunter in The Predator.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight, HBO’s Westworld) is officially on board to co-star. It’s confirmed that he’ll play the best friend of the former in the film, with both of their characters expected to be ex-Marines.
Rumor is the setting in The Predator is expected to take place in the suburbs, but that element of the story has not been confirmed yet by anyone. There’s also speculation that Arnold Schwarzenegger may even reprise his role as Dutch from 1987’s Predator.
The sequel is scheduled for a February 9th, 2018 theatrical release from 20th Century Fox.
