On Sunday night, actress Maryl Streep made a lot of people happy after she picked up the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award. However, during her acceptance speech she did manage the piss a few people off, specifically mixed martial arts fans.
While trying to pock at U.S. president-elect Donald Trump, Streep ended up calling football and MMA “not the arts.”
Streep said,
So Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners. And if we kick them all out you’ll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts.

MMA fans immediately responded, including Bellator President Scott Coker who took the time to write up a full response letter and also invited the Award-winning actress to the upcoming Bellator 170 event featuring Chael Sonnen and Tito Ortiz, which takes place on January 21, 2017 at the The Forum in Inglewood, California.
Coker’s response follows right below.
