One look at the trailer for Aaron Mirtes’ Clowntergeist and you’ll be persuaded, this has “Cult Classic” written all over it. In what’s described as “Stephen King’s IT meets Steven Spielberg’s Poltergeist” is the tale of a young woman terrorized by an evil spirit hiding within a clown. Admittedly, that sounds a little like Chucky in Child’s Play, but Clowntergeist looks like it will exacerbate any latent fears of clowns that you might have.
Clowntergeist Synopsis:
Emma (Brittany Bellard), a college student with a crippling fear of clowns, must come face-to-face with her worst fear when an evil spirit in the body of a clown is summoned and terrorizes the town she calls home. One by one, Emma and her friends receive a balloon with the exact time and date of when it will appear to kill them written on it. After receiving her balloon, Emma realizes that she has two days left to live, and must fight against the clock to find a way to survive.
High Octane Pictures has snared Clowntergeist sales rights and a release date will be announced soon.
