There’s something evil lurking behind the big red door in the official teaser trailer for It Comes at Night. I don’t really want to know what the hell it is at the moment because I’m terrified, but since the trailer is also so awesomely intriguing, I’m willing to sit back and give this new horror-mystery a go when it’s unleashed in theaters in a few months.
It Comes At Night stars Joel Edgerton as a man who learns that the evil stalking his family home may be only a prelude to horrors that come from within.
Secure within a desolate home as an unnatural threat terrorizes the world, the tenuous domestic order he has established with his wife and son is put to the ultimate test with the arrival of a desperate young family seeking refuge.
Despite the best intentions of both families, paranoia and mistrust boil over as the horrors outside creep ever-closer, awakening something hidden and monstrous within him as he learns that the protection of his family comes at the cost of his soul.
Written and directed by Trey Edward Shults, It Comes at Night also stars Riley Keough, Christopher Abbott, and Carmen Ejogo. A24 just announced the film is now slated for release on June 9th. A few months earlier than its initial release scheduled for August.
