If you want to see an amalgamation in the future of The Lord of the Rings, Arthurian Legend, and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, then you should keep an eye out for Stephen King’s adaptation of The Dark Tower series.
A multi-genre film which will largely be a sequel to the books to keep the fans of the novels extremely happy, according to the horror novelist.
King said,
The hardcore fans of The Dark Tower series will know that this is actually a sequel to the books in a way. It has a lot of the same elements, a lot of the same characters, but it is a different journey.
Ahead of the summer release of The Dark Tower film, King revealed the new official poster via Facebook and Twitter featuring The Gunslinger, Jake Chambers, and The Man in Black in a modern set world.
Directed by Nikolaj Arcel (A Royal Affair), The Dark Tower stars Idris Elba as The Gunslinger (aka Roland Deschain), Matthew McConaughey as The Man in Black, Tom Taylor as Jake Chambers, Fran Kranz as Pimli, Katheryn Winnick, and Jackie Earle Haley as Sayre.
The film hits theaters on July 28th from Sony Pictures.
